Paper Abstract:      Critical pedagogy emphasizes a dialogic approach to teaching and learning in which everyone becomes teacher, everyone a learner. This short paper demonstrates an application of wireless computing which supports this model by replacing the instructor at the front of a classroom with a wireless projector to which teacher and students across the campus have equal access. Several dialogic methods, which have the effect of turning students into teachers and a classroom into a collaborative learning environment, are described, as well preliminary findings on the effects on student learning. Presentation of the paper will demonstrate the dialogic methods as enhanced through wireless tablet PCs, enabling participants to experience the innovative application first hand and demonstrating the adaptation of the technology to the dialogic classroom.
