Paper Abstract:      Disseminating and routing data packets in highly dynamic network such a VANETs present big challenges due to the very high mobility of the nodes and the frequent changes of network topology. In this paper, a novel geocast routing protocol is proposed, named DG-CastoR protocol based on link availability estimation between mobile vehicles. It is especially tailored for infotainment applications in VANETs since it creates a virtual community of mobile nodes able to communicate and exchange data during a certain period of time. Simulation results show that, compared to existing protocols, DG-CastoR is a robust protocol for handling a large number of nodes in VANETs. It also reduces the traffic load and the network congestion by avoiding the unnecessary packet flooding over the network.
