Paper Abstract:
|
This paper presents a project on treating diabetic patients with foot ulcers at home. There is a great potential for a better
treatment of patients with ulcers at home while obtaining substantial cost-savings. The project investigates whether
pervasive computing has something to add in a telemedical setting, where the patient and the home care nurse is
communicating with the expert at the hospital. Methods of user-centered design is applied and presented. The overall
design principles for enabling cooperation between patients and residential nurses at home and ulcer experts at the
hospital are presented, and the current status of the technical implementation is outlined. |
