Paper Abstract:      The widespread use of mobile devices by people of all ages has led to their possible use in a learning environment. This adaptation has meant taking into account specific constraints pertaining to hardware, system and application software and network, together with the audience needs. Starting from a learning project where the actors work while handling wireless connected devices, the paper describes technological solutions adopted in delivery content as far as possible location and device independent, within a wireless infrastructure for a specific educational course. Constraints affecting wireless connections, simplicity of administration and use by actors, device features, and the availability of open source software for both authoring and user agents’ tools, have affected content formats and delivery systems. The solutions consider the actors’ perspectives. All the features influence the final user, including players and browsers available for each content, system delivery platform made up of a set of different services, and the content author which should design multiple materials tailored to the devices. A shift to the adoption of adaptation techniques, standards and technologies for the mobile web world could help to enable the same content presentation and visualization apart from the devices.
