Paper Abstract:      Scrum is one of the agile software development methodologies that have been accepted widely by software engineering (SE) community. This is because agile principles that emphasize on rapid development process, which enables quality software to be delivered on time and within budget. Successful agile scrum project depends on the high-performance of team members that assigned to a specific software project. Therefore, when the right team member assigned to the right project, it will boost the effectiveness and performance of team. To date, the team formation of Scrum team is based on project manager’s experience. This has led to difficulty in managing Scrum project due to inconsistency of decision making and conflict among team members. Thus, this study aims to propose an Agile Scrum team formation model by matching personality behavioural and skill sets (technical and soft skills) criteria with project’s complexity. The proposed model was further validated using a case study. Results demonstrate that the proposed model is able to help the management to form and select the right Agile Scrum Product team to work on the right IT software development project. The outcome of this study contributes to the significant criteria to select team members based on the complexity of the software project and serves as a practical contribution towards forming high performance Agile Scrum team.
