Paper Abstract:      With the widespread rapid development of computers and wireless communication, mobile computing is fast growing as the communication and sales platform of choice. The aim of this paper is to present design guidelines for mobile applications. The research intends to contribute to existing literature, highlighting popular HCI principles and design principles for mobile applications. A case study that portrays the development of a mobile application for trading used books at a university is discussed to demonstrate the utility of the consolidated design guidelines. The use of the design guidelines are strengthened with a supporting requirements analysis obtained from subject matter experts in the case study. The conceptual relationship between the aforementioned factors can be used as suggested design guidelines for mobile applications.
