Paper Abstract:
|
This paper presents the implementation and deployment of a knowledge-based system designed to enhance the reliability
of digital forensic investigations. The system's knowledge base formally outlines investigative procedures in accordance
with standards and guidelines such as ISO/IEC 27037, ISO/IEC 27041, ISO/IEC 27042, ISO/IEC 27043, NIST'' Guide
to Integrating Forensic Techniques into Incident Response, and Interpol'' Guidelines for Digital Forensics First
Responders. The application deployed in the Digital Forensics Laboratory at the Faculty of Technical Sciences,
University of Novi Sad, where a specialised server has been set up. Given the sensitivity of the data handled by forensic
investigators, the deployment and implementation of the application place a strong emphasis on security. |
