Paper Abstract:      In the course of a project to create a decision support system in the area of disaster management, interrelations between businesses are needed at the level of single companies countrywide - which cannot be supplied by official statistics. Since companies often add links to partners’ or customers’ homepages on their websites, the possibility of using these links to represent company relations was investigated. In order to determine if this approach is feasible the results of a web-crawl was compared with the official input/output static published by the Austrian statistics agency “Statistik Austria”.
