Paper Abstract:      In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the study of cooperative robots. A team of multiple robot agents can accomplish tasks much faster and more efficiently than single robot systems. Advanced manufacturing systems use robots for machining and material handling purposes. Mobile robots in these environments have proven to increase manufacturing productivity and efficiencies; however, poor material flow efficiencies in the manufacturing process can create bottlenecks which must be mitigated. This paper discusses the design of an intelligence system that will facilitate cooperative behaviours among a team of robots to reduce the occurrence of bottlenecks in manufacturing processes.
