Paper Abstract:      An effective mobile learning technology is one that makes best of the learner’s context and employs different types of information about the learner, environment, and activity to satisfy the learner’s needs and interests. This paper elaborates on the complexity of the notion of context and seeks a model of context-awareness that captures the interaction level of the learning process. It draws on human communication in an attempt to develop a model that represents the process of providing the learner with the relevant resources in a highly contextual learning process. In an informal learning activity, learners’ goals and intentions change and vary over time based on a variety of contextual features. The model presented here offers the flexibility for taking advantage of emerging learning opportunities, while allowing focus on the current activity. It is intended to fulfill the assumptions underlying the interactional view of context.
