Paper Abstract:      New technologies make possible the development of interactive web applications frequently called Rich Internet Applications. As great part of the interface processing occurs in the client, data stored in the server on user interaction are insufficient to extract detailed information on the real use of the application. This work introduces the Web Application Usage Tracking Tool, WAUTT, to capture user interaction with these applications. The objective is to facilitate the collection of detailed data to be used during a usability evaluation. Collection is carried out through a script by the client-side, in a non-intruding fashion for the user. The WAUTT was used in a real usability test of an interactive web application. Analyses realized with captured data related to user interaction show that the WAUTT tool has potential to help a usability evaluation.
