Paper Abstract:      The internet got ubiquitous in our lives and due to that in organizations and higher education institutions. Learning Management Systems (LMS) should support the efforts of lectures and students to gain knowledge. In times of so called “digital natives” we have to focus on application integration to provide an optimal information and communication technology (ICT) support. Monolithic software applications without interfaces to the surrounding ICT landscape aren’t future-proof anymore. This paper presents the application integration methods for LMS, we used at the Technische Universität München. To support a comprehensive LMS integration within existing applications, various levels of integration are necessary. We grouped them by the fields of data, technical, process and workflow integration.
