Paper Abstract:      Web search engines play a key role in the discovery of accurate and relevant information. In general, search engines use only keywords for information retrieval, which implies on results that do not consider the context. This paper describes an agent-oriented architecture to manage the process of acquiring contextual information to be included in the original user web queries. In order to perform this, segmentation and clustering techniques are applied to the content that can provide the context (for example, documents or discussions). A prototype was developed considering content from the discussions generated in a collaborative community of a social network. A contextual query tool is available as an application for this same social network. Some results are summarized and presented.
