Paper Abstract:

Recent developments in Information Technologies (IT) have brought important and increasingly remarkable changes not only to our daily lives, but also to the way of communication. Combined with various applications, mobile devices, today, also present great opportunities to the business. However, as the widespread use of mobile systems increases, so does the risk to information security, privacy and vulnerability. Contrary to expectations, the intersected research areas of mobile systems and security are relatively scarce, let alone the secondary studies systematically exploring and analyzing the state-of-the-art. In this paper, therefore, we present the preliminary results of a study on mobile information systems and security, which is conducted according to the guidelines of Systematic Mapping Research. The primary purpose is to review the literature on mobile systems and security and provide an overview of this research area. Consequently, the main contributions and outcomes of this study can be identification and synthesizing of possible evidences, finding the trends, gaps and opportunities as well as make them available for future research efforts.
