Paper Abstract:      Within the educational realm, software advancement in terms of virtual reality simulations has brought an entire new arena in learning scenarios. In Taiwan, numerous scholars have ventured into this endeavor. However, empirical findings are quite few. In light of this issue, this case study focuses on creation and evaluation of the virtual reality courseware in learning English. It is hypothesized that the students’ self-efficacy is highly related to their technology use tendencies. In light of this issue, this paper shall report the findings of a case study focused on evaluating the effectiveness of a virtual reality courseware in learning occupational English through the students’ self-efficacy. A total of 154 students participated in the study. Results show that students who have high self-efficacy do perform better than their peers. Further implications are also provided for future studies related to virtual learning environment and students’ self-efficacy.
