Paper Abstract:
|
Gamification is being used in education to increase student motivation and engagement. Online quizzes, facilitated by
tools such as Kahoot and Socrative, are a key aspect of this approach, offering questions such as true/false, multiple
choice, and open-ended. Despite their advantages, these tools have significant limitations when used for programming
education, as they cannot compile and evaluate code, making it difficult to assess students' programming skills. In
addition, the restrictive formatting options in these tools prevent the effective presentation of code.
This paper introduces a tool designed to overcome the drawbacks referred above by enabling the creation of quizzes that
support code editing, compilation, and evaluation. The tool allows teachers to create quizzes with different question
types, including code-based questions, and will support proper code formatting in question descriptions. Teachers can
share these quizzes through live sessions and students can join them and submit their answers. The tool will be open
source and web-based, ensuring easy access and eliminating the need to install additional software. |
