Paper Abstract:      The increased demand for Distance Learning (DL), the progress of development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) are in a scenario where minimizing distances and enhancing tracking of students through ICT are aspired. However, current VLEs don´t have the necessary resources to ensure the participation of students in the development of academic activities during their studies. We implemented a physiognomic identification mechanism to incorporate the student´s image in the Moodle activities´ report. It captures students´ images, obtained by webcam, and adds them to the mentioned report. Thus, administrators, coordinators, teachers and tutors can attest student participation in their remote activities.
