Paper Abstract:      This paper presents a method for automatic selection of software products orientated by a set of information, denominated ASECER (Automatic Selection of COTS in Engineering of Requirements). The method is divided in three phases. These phases are divided in activities whose objectives is to feed the information databases to make automatic processes of negotiation, evaluation and selection of COTS in requirement engineering. This approach suggests some models for the databases to store requirements of the project and the suppliers information. The model of the requirements database will make multiple choice of COTS if it is necessary. The proposed method divides the requirements in three levels: Fundamental; Contractual and Desirable. The Fundamental and Desirable requirements are composed by functional and/or non-functional requirements. The Contractual level is formed by non-functional requirements.. A prototype is developed to aid in the demonstration of the method.
