Paper Abstract:      In recent years, numerous multidimensional models for OLAP systems have been defined. Although these models differ, they do share a set of common concepts. Usually, each model has an associated metamodel where the relationships between model concepts are specified. Different cubes in a multidimensional schema may have dimensions in common. However, current approaches to multidimensional modelling do not take into consideration this issue, and dimensions are defined individually for each cube. The same scenario applies to the relationships between the other model elements. The approach presented in this paper tries to solve this issue by defining a metamodel in which every component of a multidimensional schema can be shared.
