Paper Abstract:      Elaborated task Scheduling is considered of major importance for contemporary information systems and service platforms. We present a Java-based implementation of a task Scheduler primarily targeted to the large scale provision of mobile telecommunication services. The requirements for such a system are identified. The object-oriented design of our architecture is presented along with the specific characteristics of the EJB (Enterprise Java Beans) technology that has been adopted as a basis for implementation. A series of trials, involving the scheduling of volumes of tasks, were performed to evaluate the performance achieved by the system. We present our findings, indicating the specific performance bounds of the proposed architecture.
