Paper Abstract:      This study aimed to conclude an exhaustive dimensional structure defining the individuals’ motivations in Web-based consumption. Here, the main stages of said study are briefly presented. First, a review of the literature on consumer motivations in physical and electronic markets is practised. Then, an initial structure of 12 dimensions is proposed. Such dimensions are later assessed and refined by a qualitative study, which results in a proposal of 11 dimensions with their respective measurement scales (a total of 49 items). Next, a quantitative study is developed, and a questionnaire is applied to a sample of 679 Internet users. Exploratory and confirmatory factorial analyses are applied to these dimensional structures and items. As a result of rigorous reliability and validity analyses, a structure of 10 dimensions and 37 items is finally confirmed.
