Paper Abstract:      The organizations in contemporary society are undergoing major transformations in all areas and the impact of restructuring is due to organizational processes and techniques that are incorporated into the business environment by new technologies and new management models. This article aims at presenting the Competence Management Model of a Brazilian Energy Company for evaluation process of the employee knowledge and generation of their Development Plan of Employees (DPE) required for the development of strategies / goals of the Downstream Sector of the Company. Within this scenario, this article presents the software for Competence Management System developed to support this evaluation process and generation of the Development Plan for Employees (DPE). The results have shown an improvement on the process of employee’s competence mapping and application of training and improvement courses in a short time. Also, the formation of classes was optimized and the cost reduced. Our focus on the competence management was on the aspects related to the development, monitoring and evaluation (emphasis on the dynamic aspect) of individual knowledge in order to identify gaps on the level require through evaluation and perform the stage of learning and training aiming to reduce this employee´s knowledge gaps.
