Paper Abstract:
|
Evaluation of clustering results is an important and necessary step in cluster analysis. We propose a new cluster validity
index, which bases on one factor - minimal compactness. The important advantage of the index is simplicity and the
property of adaptively adjusting the relative significance of overflow. The algorithm to apply the cluster validity index to
the cluster validation of fuzzy c-means algorithm is very simple. The experimental results indicate the effectiveness of the
proposed cluster validity index. |
