Paper Abstract:      On the occasion of conducting a shadowing internship as part of her teacher education program in a south-western US university, the researcher had a chance to follow a veteran teacher educator as he was teaching a methods education class to Master-level students. Throughout the course of a semester, the researcher conducted classroom observations, as well as both formal and informal interviews with the class instructor in an attempt to understand the practices that take place in a constructivist learning environment. The researcher and teacher educator discussed the design and implementation of the lessons by the instructor, as well as his choice of teaching strategies and if/how they aligned with a constructivist approach. Findings reveal the types of constructivist learning paradigms taking place in a teacher classroom and they offer an interpretation of what constructivism is in this particular case study.
