Paper Abstract:
|
The development of tools capable of handling large volumes of conventional and image data generated by hospital
systems to assist specialists in decision-making contributes to speeding up diagnosis and the execution of medical
procedures. This is the case with breast cancer, where early detection and correct monitoring can significantly reduce
mortality rates. In this paper, we introduce an image data warehouse to store conventional and image data related to
breast cancer, whose subject of interest is mammography. We also develop a prototype through which specialists in
decision-making in clinical routine can perform analytical queries extended with a similarity search predicate over the
proposed breast cancer data warehouse. Our proposal was validated by interviewing medical specialists, who assessed its
feasibility and applicability. |
