Paper Abstract:
|
The main aim of this project was to visualize the discipline of Islamic Finance and its ontology based on co-citation
analysis. Research objectives were to visualize the Islamic Finance discipline through author co-citation analysis,
document co-citation analysis and themes co-citation analysis, and visualize the relationship between the citing and cited
documents within the Islamic Finance discipline. Method for data collection included record creation, mapping of the
highly cited authors, documents and themes for co-citation analysis, and mapping of the documents and themes in for
visualizing the research fronts and research areas, and the computation of co-citation strength based on improved
mathematical model. Ontology of Islamic finance could be derived from the co-cited themes. Research fronts in Islamic
finance strongly focused on Riba (interest), a contribution from Islamic economics. Highly co-cited authors were also
those from the Islamic economics discipline. |
