Paper Abstract:
|
Nowadays, the workflow systems are being introduced to more and more companies. Due to the fact that it is hard to define a process which avoids any exceptions, sometimes exceptions simply occur. The goal of this paper is to introduce a novel method of predicting the exceptions by using extended set of information gathered in the data mining process and to signal the possibility of the exception occurrence at the earliest moment in time. To further extend the proposed approach, social network analysis is used to suggest the flow of the exception in the workflow system. Together, these new workflow extensions may lead to shortening the time of exception handling. This paper describes also a set of change introduced in a real-world workflow system to benefit from the proposed approach, making it also more suitable for practitioners. |
