Paper Abstract:
|
In this paper we will review Psiconnect, a platform which aim is to ease the communication between medical staff, caregivers and patients in the area of psychiatry. Its purpose is to offer the possibility of a direct online communication and share all kind of information and resources useful to the psychiatry. Psiconnect tries to bring comfort and effectiveness to its users, making easier, for example, a second medical opinion, solving doubts online between medical staff and patients, and even remote diagnosis. In order to perform all these functions it has many services oriented to communication between users, such as forum of discussion, chat, videoconference, private messages, related news, printed resources and online resources. In this work we describe the different aspects taken into account during its development, the process, and the technologies used. Besides, we evaluate its usefulness and usability in a real environment comparing it with others projects with similar purposes. |
