Paper Abstract:      This paper describes work on projects for supporting active learning processes, using different technologies, including mobile access. The infrastructure is provided by the VideoStore project, a Web system to store, transmit, search and share the contents of courses captured in video. VideoStore involves video interfaces, video annotation, streaming, and podcasts. The mEmLearn project departs from this framework to support Tablet PCs. After reaching an initial stable prototype for VideoStore, the developed features were evaluated and new ones were proposed, as described in the paper. The evaluation involved students that attended a Multimedia Computing course and used the VideoStore system. The new features include additional interfaces and mobile learning tools, such as podcasts of the lectures and the development for Tablet PCs in the mEmLearn project. The overall system can now support annotations made during lectures using Tablet PCs.
