Paper Abstract:      We propose the use of wind gusts to help users notice and understand information. Information is generally represented visually and aurally; however, it requires user attention for them to be able to understand it. In contrast, wind can provide them with a high degree of awareness and it is a different modality from visual and aural representations. Hence, wind can be used to add auxiliary information to the main content that users are watching with fewer interruptions. In addition, wind can direct users to displays that provide a rich variety of information utilizing the characteristic of spatiality. This paper describes prototypes and discusses an evaluation of the perception of wind and its utility.
