Paper Abstract:      Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is increasingly adopted by many sectors, including healthcare. Due to the nature of healthcare systems there is a need to successfully implement SOA to integrate the heterogeneous and fragmented healthcare Information Systems (IS). Literature reports multiple SOA governance models that have limitations and they are confusing. In addition to this, there is a lack of healthcare specific SOA governance models. This highlights a literature void and thus the purpose of this paper is to address elements that can assemble a healthcare specific SOA governance framework. In this paper we extend our previous published research and we propose an innovative SOA governance model that is specific for healthcare. It is expected that the proposed model will improve the management of SOA and will facilitate the application of SOA in healthcare.
