Paper Abstract:      In this project the evaluation methodology of Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) is presented, along with guidelines that should be followed when evaluating a VLE. We propose an evaluation framework that consists of concrete stages. For each one of these stages we make appropriate recommendations as to how one can cope with the possible problems that may appear. Our overall endeavor results in a guide, which aims at helping the inexperienced practitioner and any aspiring evaluator of a VLE to find his own way as far as concerns the evaluation process
